Wow
Mood:  surprised
Now Playing: Chill Out Scooby-Doo!

Not  WoW, but just wow. It feels pretty cool when one of the authors of the 3rd Edition Monster Manual and other core rulebooks not only posts some commentary about one of your homebrew monster creations, but also nominates it for Friday Favorites.

I think I'm starting to appreciate how Gleemax can be a truly interactive community for gamers of all levels!

2 celebrations
Mood:  rushed

Happy 5th anniversary to me (and my lovely wife Kim, who has put up with me for so long).

Also, happy birthday to my good friend and one-time roommate, Sam. Wherever you are now.

Now Playing: Back Porch (Live), Presidents of the United States of America

Not that I post much here anyway, but you can catch more of my geeky musings at Nerdvana, the new blog I conceived for EVTrib.com. I already work there as a designer for the print edition. Check it out!

Some random thoughts ...
Mood:  quizzical
Now Playing: Live And Let Die (Guns N' Roses)

I find it anathema to criticize "Sherlock Holmes and the Secret Weapon." After all, it stars the inimitable Basil Rathbone in the title role and Nigel Bruce as his sidekick, Prof. Watson. But it's nothing more than Allied propaganda (not that there's anything wrong with that, mind you.) But seriously! Sherlock running around WWII London? C'mon!

I saw this movie a few weeks ago on TCM and spied the DVD on Amazon tonight. Speaking of Amazon, their recommendations feature needs reworking. You have two options when presented with something the site thinks you will like: "I Own It" and "Not Interested." There's a whole spectrum they're missing: "I Need It"; "I Own It But My Two-Year-Old Has Rendered It Inoperable Or Ugly"; "Hint, Hint!" and "Hell, No!" Particularly the last one:

PS - Yes, that really is Scott Baio with the Van Dyke boys. (shudder)
